My ultimate goal is to display the love of Christ to each individual who enters the therapy room, no matter their past, their religion, or their trials. Clients will also benefit from my work being supervised by marriage and family therapist Monica Marterella, MS, LMFT-S, LPC-S. Life can feel overwhelming when anxiety, grief, stress, or major life transitions begin to weigh heavily on you. I am passionate about working with teens and young adults who feel exhausted, stuck, disconnected from themselves, or uncertain about who they are beneath the pain they have experienced.
I believe that while pain is inevitable, suffering does not have to define your story. My approach is warm, person-centered, and integrative, drawing primarily from Internal Family Systems (IFS) while tailoring counseling to each client’s unique needs and story. As a faith-based counselor, I believe healing often begins when we learn to see ourselves the way God sees us: as His masterpiece, created with purpose, value, and love.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My goal as a counselor is to provide a safe and compassionate space where clients can explore and process life’s challenges without fear of judgment. I desire to walk alongside you as you navigate anxiety, grief, stress, and difficult transitions while discovering healthier ways to cope, heal, and grow.
My hope is that through our work together, you will experience greater self-awareness, encouragement, and hope while learning to see yourself through the lens of God’s love and truth.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I offer a warm, supportive environment where you can expect compassion, empathy, and care as you process the difficult parts of your story emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I strive to meet clients where they are while helping them better understand themselves, navigate challenges, and move toward healing and lasting change.
As your counselor, I will collaborate with you to develop practical tools and coping strategies while creating space for deeper healing with God’s help.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
God promises that although we will face trials in this life, He does not leave us alone in them (John 16:33). As your counselor, I would be honored to walk alongside you through those difficult seasons with compassion, curiosity, and grace.
My approach is person-centered and integrative, drawing primarily from Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients understand the protective patterns and parts of themselves that may have formed through painful experiences. My ultimate hope is that through counseling, you will experience healing, feel God’s love more deeply, and be reminded that you are His masterpiece, created with purpose, value, and dignity.
Qualifications & Experience
I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience from Texas A&M. I also have a Master of Science in Family and Child Studies from Texas State University that I gained in order to work as a Certified Child Life Specialist in hospitals where I provided psychosocial support to hospitalized children and their families to help them cope better with the stress of the hospital, diagnosis, or procedures. And finally, I have a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University.
My Call to Christian Counseling
Having worked as a Certified Child Life Specialist for five years, I saw many situations that warranted longer term psychosocial support that I was unable to provide in that professional capacity. Working in the emergency room for most of that time, I saw too many children, adolescents, and young adults who needed follow up or more in-depth support that I could not provide past the walls of the hospital, which led me to determine that I wanted to do more. In addition, God has placed people in my life who have supported, encouraged, and challenged me to think more critically about what my God-given strengths are and how I can best spread Jesus’ love to others in this world.
More About Me/On a Personal Note
I love to bake! I recently took some classes to learn French baking, like cream puffs, éclairs, croissants, and pan au chocolat. I also recently got some sourdough starter from a friend and have made sourdough loaves, biscotti, and pancakes all from the same starter! In addition, I love to do jigsaw puzzles, crochet, and play video games.

Anxiety
Anxiety can feel exhausting and overwhelming, especially when your thoughts seem impossible to slow down. Maybe you find yourself overthinking conversations, constantly anticipating the worst, feeling stuck in fear, or becoming so overwhelmed that it feels difficult to function day to day. If this is you, you are not alone.
While anxiety is a normal part of life, sometimes protective parts of us begin working overtime to keep us safe, leaving us feeling emotionally drained, stuck, or disconnected from ourselves and others. In counseling, we work together to better understand those anxious patterns with compassion rather than shame.
My goal is to help you explore what your anxiety looks like, develop practical coping tools, and create healthier ways to respond to stress and fear. Anxiety is not your identity, and healing is possible. Whether your focus is learning daily management skills, processing deeper emotional wounds, or reconnecting with God’s truth about who you are, I will meet you where you are with compassion and support.
Grief and Loss
Grief is not something we simply “get over.” Loss changes us, and healing often looks less like leaving grief behind and more like learning how to carry it with compassion and support. There is no right timeline or perfect way to grieve, and every part of your experience deserves care and understanding.
Sometimes grief brings sadness, while other times it can bring anger, numbness, anxiety, guilt, or even confusion. In counseling, we create space to gently explore and care for the parts of you carrying those emotions without shame or pressure to “move on.”
Whether support looks like processing your story, sitting with difficult emotions, strengthening coping skills, or navigating everyday reminders of your loss, I will walk alongside you with compassion and grace. My hope is to help you experience healing, connection, and hope even in the midst of sorrow.
Spiritual Development
No matter where you are in your faith journey, there are seasons when life can leave you feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, uncertain, or full of questions. Sometimes certain parts of us long for closeness with God while other parts carry fear, doubt, shame, or hurt from past experiences.
My heart is to walk alongside you as you explore and strengthen your faith in a safe, compassionate, and judgment-free space. Whether you are exploring your beliefs, reconnecting with God, or simply longing to better understand yourself and your relationship with Him, you do not have to walk alone.
I believe spiritual growth is not about perfection, but about learning to approach yourself with honesty, curiosity, and grace while discovering more deeply who you are and whose you are. My hope is to help clients experience a sense of safety, healing, and wonder as they grow in their relationship with God and begin to see themselves as His masterpiece, deeply loved, known, and created with purpose.
Counseling for Teens
Being a teenager can feel overwhelming. Between anxiety, stress, friendships, family dynamics, identity, and the constant pressure of growing up, it can sometimes feel like different parts of you are pulling in opposite directions: one part wanting independence, another feeling uncertain, anxious, or misunderstood.
I strive to create a space where teens feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported without judgment. Counseling can provide a safe place to slow down, process emotions, and better understand the protective parts of themselves that may be carrying stress, fear, shame, or pressure.
Together, we work to build healthy coping skills, strengthen self-awareness, and help teens grow in confidence, emotional resilience, and a deeper understanding of who they are beneath the overwhelm.
Counseling for Children
Children often experience and process life’s challenges very differently than adults. Big emotions can feel confusing, overwhelming, or difficult to express, especially during experiences such as anxiety, anger, grief, or major life changes.
My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where children feel seen, understood, and emotionally secure. Through developmentally appropriate counseling, I help children better understand their emotions and the different parts of themselves that may feel scared, angry, anxious, or hurt. Together, we work to build healthy coping skills, process difficult experiences, and help children feel more confident, connected, and secure both in and outside of counseling.
